Meet Maribel Perry

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist | Dallas, TX | Bilingual — English & Spanish

Maribel Perry, bilingual couples and family therapist in Dallas Texas

I'm a bilingual licensed marriage and family therapist based in Dallas, Texas, and I help individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges with compassion, practical tools, and hope.

My path to this work wasn't just academic. It was personal. Growing up in a bilingual family after my parents divorced, I experienced firsthand how culture, family relationships, and major life transitions can shape the way we communicate, cope, and connect with the people we love. It also gave me a deep appreciation for how resilient families can be when they're given the right support.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly three decades in education, supporting students and families through challenges that often extended far beyond the classroom. Over time, I realized I wanted to help people on a deeper level, which led me to pursue marriage and family therapy.

I help individuals, couples, and families strengthen their relationships, navigate life's challenges, improve communication, and create lasting change. Whether you're navigating relationship conflict, anxiety, family stress, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you feel understood while giving you practical tools you can use outside the therapy room.

I believe lasting change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest, understood enough to feel less alone, and supported enough to try something different. My hope is that you leave each session with greater clarity, practical tools, and confidence in your ability to move forward.

What You Can Expect in Therapy

Step 1: We Start With Your Story

Creating safety and clarity

Every first session begins the same way: I listen. Not to diagnose or categorize, but to understand who you are, what you're carrying, and what you're hoping for. For couples, I make space for both voices. For families, I make sure everyone feels heard — even the ones who didn't want to come.

Step 2: We Find the Patterns

Turning awareness into something useful

Most of the time what brings people to therapy isn't the argument or the crisis — it's the pattern underneath it. Together we identify what's been keeping you stuck and start building real practical tools to change it.

Step 3: We Build Something That Lasts

Not just better — different.

The goal isn't to feel okay for a few weeks. It's to build the kind of clarity, confidence, and connection that holds — even when life gets hard again.

A Strong Foundation in Therapy

I have a strong academic background that includes a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in education from the University of Minnesota, as well as an Advanced Graduate Certificate in counseling from Dallas Baptist University and a master's degree in family and couples therapy from Northcentral University.

What I Specialize In

I work with couples navigating betrayal, conflict, or the quiet distance that grows when life gets busy. I work with women carrying the weight of too much — ready to reconnect with who they are, what they want, and what they deserve. I work with teenagers who feel lost, misunderstood, or disconnected from the people who love them most. And I work with families trying to find their way back to each other — through parent-child conflict, co-parenting struggles, major transitions, and the kind of hurt that doesn't have an easy name.

Whatever brought you here, there is a way through. And you don't have to find it alone.

Why This Work Matters to Me

I didn't come to therapy as an outsider looking in. I came as someone who understands — from the inside — what it feels like to need support and not know how to ask for it. My Hispanic background, my family, my own seasons of struggle: all of it lives in the room with me when I sit across from a client. I don't just offer techniques. I offer presence.

Therapy Is One of the Best Investments You'll Ever Make

Not because it's easy — but because what you build here follows you everywhere. Into your relationships, your parenting, your work, your sense of self. I'm not here to fix you. You're not broken. I'm here to help you find what's already there.

Whatever Brought You Here — I'm Glad You Found Your Way You’re in the right place...
